1 Timothy 1:15-17 NKJV – 15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. 16 However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life. 17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

Happy Easter! We met at the town beach for a 7 AM Resurrection celebration service followed by a breakfast in the community center. After cleaning up, the older kids had a great time playing with some cups they accidentally dropped. The younger kids found the playground, and some of them decided to make footprints with water on the concrete.

We went to see “Noah” by Sight & Sound in the theater on April 9. This was our April activity. We also had a very nice Good Friday service.

Celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior!

John 11:25-27 NKJV – 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 “And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” 27 She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

Pictured above is our Youth Cookie Baking Contest. We really enjoyed sampling the entries . . . Great job, kids! We had a lovely corned beef and cabbage dinner on St. Patrick’s Day. Also pictured: Youth Pizza & Game Night was a lot of fun, even though everyone was “board.”

Pictured here is our annual Wild Game Dinner. The food was fabulous, the fellowship was great. However, due to some sickness and bad weather, we had quite a few leftovers. We served the dinner again on Wednesday. Everyone was happy to have “Take Two” because the dishes were so yummy! Thanks so much for praying for this event.
Our kids and other church folks came for Spic & Span Saturday, and we scrubbed and polished the church. Afterwards, we had pizza & a movie. Our folks and kids worked very hard, and we are so thankful!!
Special Thanks to Central Rock Gym for giving us a Discounted Rate to bring our Youth for an Adventure. We are so Thankful for the Youth of our Church!
Our Men’s and Ladies’ Bible studies are also pictured here. Praise the Lord for a great month!
Psalm 31:19-24 NKJV – 19 Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men! 20 You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence From the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion From the strife of tongues. 21 Blessed be the LORD, For He has shown me His marvelous kindness in a strong city! 22 For I said in my haste, “I am cut off from before Your eyes”; Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications When I cried out to You. 23 Oh, love the LORD, all you His saints! For the LORD preserves the faithful, And fully repays the proud person. 24 Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the LORD.

The Beacon February 2019

Please pray for our newest ministry, Monday Morning Meditation. One of the things I have tried to do as a pastor is to help our church folks engage in more collective prayer. When our advisory board met in January, we prayed about and discussed ways to make prayer more intertwined in our weekly activities. We pray together on Sunday mornings during our Bible Study Hour (Sunday School) before the Worship Hour. We pray together on Wednesday nights during our prayer meeting and Bible study. Our men and women pray together at their respective monthly Bible studies.

We were looking for an additional collective prayer opportunity each week, and this idea came to us.  Basically, I send out an e-mail and Facebook post of the points from my Sunday sermon along with a prayer with each point. Also included is the daily Bible reading for the following week’s Sunday School Bible Study. Finally, we include the coming events for convenience. It is our hopeful prayer that these posts will serve the purpose of encouraging meditation on the Word of God, praying in the Word of God, and reaching those at home who could not come to church that week.

Technology has advanced to the point that we can broadcast the Sunday service on Facebook Live and link that to the Monday Morning Meditation post. Now those who could not be at church with us can feel like they were there.

Please pray with us as we embark on this uncharted and new ministry.  Please also pray as we continue the other ministries already in place.

In the coming months, we hope to make improvements to our current technology ministries (website, social media, and e-mail communication). Please pray for our church folks who are facilitating that on a volunteer basis, as they are extremely busy yet very generous with their time.

We had a great time bowling!

Psalm 121:1-8 NKJV – 1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills–From whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. 3 He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. 4 Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade at your right hand. 6 The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. 7 The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. 8 The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.
