Harvest Party 2017

Due to a VERY windy storm on Sunday, October 29, we moved the date of our Harvest Party to Friday, November 3, which turned out to be a very mild and beautiful evening. We praise the Lord for such perfect weather! The beautiful full moon played “peek-a-boo” with us, and then it stayed for a while with a beautiful multi-colored halo. Wow!
Everyone had a wonderful time. We started with sidewalk chalk, face painting, and some tossing games. We fired up the grill and had chili dogs with pot-luck sides and desserts. Yumm! We added hot cocoa and hot spiced cider, coffee, and tea to the mix, and it began to feel like a Harvest Party. Then the kids went for hayrides and made caramel apples (the peel & wrap kind, not the dangerous stovetop kind . . .) while we started the campfire.
After the hayrides, we gathered around the campfire for s’mores, a singalong, and a devotion. The kids loved using flashlights and glow sticks once the sun had completely set. The guys set up the piñata rope at the basketball hoop, and then we began the piñata attack. The kids had painted these piñatas at our previous Fantastic Friday. It was time to destroy them . . . They had so much fun, but the guys pulling the piñata rope had more fun teasing them by moving it up and down . . .
After the candy collection, the kids played Manhunt in the back field. We had a great time! We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who pitched in and made this night so amazing! Once again, we praise the Lord for a Fantastic Harvest Party! He has blessed us so much!
